Cougran is the 6th planet from a giant blue star in a galaxy in the Constellation Eradanus. It is a tropical world filled with life forms similar to our own. They have mammals, reptiles, birds, insects, fish and amphibians just like we do, but they don't exactly look like ours do. The planet is inhabited with creatures called felinoids, or cat-people. The felinoids are divided into two major races, the Tigrens and Carcalians. Carcalians are the fertile race, making up about 75% of the population, where Tigrens are the ruling, military class, making up 25% of the population.
Male Carcalians are 3.5 feet high. Every year, in the month of Estrella, the 8th month of the year, the Carcalians go through a metamorphosis, growing long hair, claws on their fingers, long, canine teeth, enlarged muscles, an enlongated muzzle, and they grow to be 5 feet 10-inches tall.
Female Carcalians are females are 3 feet high. In the month of Estrella, they
also metamorphosize. They grow longer hair, long claws, a longer muzzle, their top pair of teets grow round and enlarge, their hips grow outward to cradle their litter.
Females pick 5 males to fight for the right to mate with her...the winner gets the 'girl', the losers don't mate.
After mating, the males metamophosize back to their previous forms and go about as they had prior to mating. The females, however, as a sign of successful pregancy, develop 3 more pairs of breasts along their belly, which fills with life-giving milk for their litters. The number of eggs successfully fertilized produces the corresponding number of breasts, maximizing at 4 pair.
When the pups are born, they are examined for the tell-tale sign of being Tigren or Carcalian. The Tigrens have a birthmark on their lower back, as seen below:
They are then sent to the Tigren Castle in the area in which they live to train to control their eventual transformation from 3½ feet to 10-foot fierce, fighting beasts!
